About Feia B. Clowder

My name is Feia, and for a long time I’ve been hiding in my lovely home in the center of the Netherlands, showing my stories only to a trusted few.

Double-lock is the first book that I am ready to send into the world. And hopefully soon, there will be many to follow.

I grew up in and around Utrecht, and studied Biology at the University there. Frustrated by a lack of creative outlet (and the complexities of molecular chemistry), I dropped out after a few years and became a goldsmith. When health problems made that line of work impossible, I worked for a company that sold medical equipment for a while, became a mom, and later a translator.

Creating things makes me happy. Sometimes I can make do with a beautiful quilt, something cute made of clay, an inexpertly knitted scarf, or even a terrible drawing. But when I really need to scratch that itch, I create a world, and people and other creatures to inhabit it, and tell their remarkable stories.

When I’m not writing, I find other ways to experience stories, like reading, and watching films and series and playing D&D. I also love hanging out with my friends and family, and play a lot of board games and video games. RPGs are my favorite. I love chocolate, and drink countless mugs of weak tea throughout the day. My favorite colors are purple and blue, and for some reason, gradients of cool bright colors always cheer me up.

I still live in my hiding place in the center of the Netherlands, with my amazing son, and our wonderful cats. My laptop sits on the dinner table, always ready for me to pick up right where I left off.
